the India Energy Storage Week (IESW) in New Delhi, Union
Minister Piyush Goyal announced a remarkable 4,000% increase in
India’s solar energy capacity.
- Total renewable energy capacity now stands at 227 GW.
- Highlighted major schemes:
- PM Surya Ghar Yojana
- PM Kusum Yojana
- A new ₹1 lakh crore Innovation Fund will be
launched to develop futuristic battery technologies.
- Emphasis was laid on building supply chains and energy
storage systems to achieve India’s clean energy goals.
🎯 NESTS and UNICEF Launch
TALASH Program for Tribal Youth
A joint
initiative by the National Education Society for Tribal Students
(NESTS) and UNICEF India, TALASH was
launched to support over 1.38 lakh tribal students across Eklavya
Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) in 28 states and 8 UTs.
- Features include:
- Aptitude tests
- Career counselling
- Life skills training
- Teacher support
- Aligned with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020
- Full-scale implementation is expected by the end of 2025.

🚨 Uttarakhand Launches
‘Operation Kalanemi’ to Nab Fake Saints
Uttarakhand
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami announced a state-wide operation to
arrest fake saints and religious fraudsters, named after the mythological
demon Kalanemi.
- Aim: To protect devotees, especially women,
and maintain the sanctity of Sanatana Dharma.
- To be led by the Uttarakhand Police across the
state.
🚗 Carnac Bridge in Mumbai
Renamed as ‘Sindoor Bridge’
The
historical Carnac Bridge, originally built in 1868, has been renamed
as Sindoor Bridge to honor Operation Sindoor, a military
strike on terror camps.
- Rebuilt and inaugurated on July 10, 2025, by CM
Devendra Fadnavis.
- The new name seeks to erase colonial legacies and
celebrate national pride.
- The 328-meter-long bridge is expected to ease traffic in South
Mumbai.
📻 Akashvani Kendra to Be
Set Up in Ujjain, MP
The Central
Government will establish a new Akashvani Kendra in Ujjain,
Madhya Pradesh under the BIND Scheme.

- Abu Mena (Egypt)
- Old Town of Ghadames (Libya)
These sites
have overcome threats such as illegal logging, rising water levels, and
conflict damage. UNESCO praised the restoration efforts and promised continued
support to African heritage preservation.
