🚜 Gujarat has emerged as India’s leading state in processed potato production.

·         BanaskanthaSabarkantha, and Aravalli districts have led the charge.

·         48.59 lakh tonnes of potatoes were produced in 2024–25, with 25% used for processing.

·         Backed by government policieshigh-yield varieties, and cold storage facilities, Gujarat is now eyeing global markets.

🥗 Snack Nutrition Awareness Campaign Launched

The Ministry of Health launched a campaign on snack nutrition at AIIMS Nagpur.

·         Visual posters beside food stalls warn about sugar, fat, and trans fats in everyday snacks like samosas and biscuits.

·         Encourages people to make healthier dietary choices and promotes moderation.

·         With predictions from The Lancet estimating 450 million obese Indians by 2050, this is part of a larger initiative to combat lifestyle diseases.

·         Government offices are urged to serve healthy food and spread awareness.


🚄 E5 Trains for Trial, E10 for Launch in Bullet Train Project

India is preparing to launch E10 (Alfa-X) bullet trains, a first outside Japan, on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor.

·         Until then, two E5 trains will be used for trial runs in 2026.

·         The E10 Shinkansen, capable of speeds up to 400 kmph, features state-of-the-art safety and comfort mechanisms.

·         The ₹1.1 lakh crore project has already completed:

·         310 km viaducts

·         15 bridges

·         5 stations

·         A major India-Japan collaboration, enhancing world-class rail infrastructure.

Union Minister Shri B.L. Verma inaugurated the 75th PMDK in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh.

💰 CTBC Bank of Taiwan to Open Unit in GIFT City

CTBC Bank, Taiwan’s largest private lender, will establish an IFSC Banking Unit at GIFT City, Gujarat.

·         Already present in New Delhi, this marks their expansion into Indian financial hubs.

·         31 IBUs currently exist in GIFT City, with banks from UAE and France also joining in.

PhonePe dominated the UPI space in June 2025, clocking 8.54 billion transactions.
